I'm simply trying find out how the ranking systems work

I attempted this question and, your answer was essentially, We can't change anything. In asking why players with lower stats across the board are much higher ranked, I did not ask for change but, UNDERSTANDING. How does the ranking system work? What makes the green graph go up? It doesn't change anything but, would allow the players to know how to get maximum points.
